History Smar was founded on April,1st 1974 by Mr. Mauro Sponchiado and Mr. Jose Martinussi who took the initials of their names to form the company's name. First area of business was service steam turbines in sugar refineries nearby Sertãozinho, Brazil. Smar added in-house electronics expertise when electronic speed regulators were introduced for steam turbines in 1978. It soon developed electronic controls for cane cutters and crushers as well. From then on, Smar developed a line of process control instruments for all industries areas. Smar had initialized its actuation in international market in 1988, when introduced its smart pressure and temperature transmitters to the world at the ISA show in Houston. Smar had surprised the instrumentation elite in 1991 by unveiling the LD301 pressure transmitter that incorporated HART protocol, PID control and flow integration all in one package. |
